Stephane Kaas (1984 - Amsterdam) is a Dutch filmmaker who studied at both the art academy (Rietveld Academy) and the Dutch Film academy (NFTA). 
He made several short documentaries, fiction films and satirical films that were screened online, on tv and on filmfestivals around the world.
His first feature documentary 'Etgar Keret: BASED ON A TRUE STORY’, MADE WITH HIS FRIEND RUTGER LEMM, IS a film about the famous Israeli writer of short surreal stories and the need for storytelling. It won AN EMMY AWARD, two prizes at the master of art film festival in bulgaria, A PRIZE AT THE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL IN WARSAW AND a prix italia.
